The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in charged of Jigawa state Command, Haruna A. Yahaya has charged officers to uphold the rule of law and operate strictly within the Nigerian constitution.
Stressing that the current Nigeria Police under the present Inspector General prioritises human rights and lawful conduct.
The CP stated this while hosting the Jigawa State Level Working Group of the CLEEN Foundation which paid an advocacy and familiarization visit to his office recently at the command headquarters Dutse.
He said the forms submitted to him would be adopted to boost efficiency, accountability, and proper case management in line with the ACJL.
He therefore commended the SLWG for its support and pledged the command’s commitment to justice sector reforms.
Earlier on, the SLWG Chairman Lamin Muhammad Usman who is also a Magistrate presented copies of the Remand Request Form and the Affidavit of Fact Form to CP Yahaya.
He said the delegation used the meeting to formally introduce its members and discuss ways to deepen collaboration with the police command for stronger implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law in Jigawa State.
He explained that the documents were developed following a recent training for Divisional Police Officers and Legal Officers at the command headquarters.
Adding that the training meant to improve documentation, strengthen reporting, and resolve gaps linked to incomplete case files in the justice process.
