Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi said the state’s pledge to deliver over one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu comes 2027 stands firm.
Speaking to journalists after participating in the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s presidential primary at his ward in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Namadi described the massive turnout as proof of Jigawa people’s confidence in the president.
He pointed to the long lines of party members who turned out for Tinubu while none backed his opponents, calling it a clear sign of the president’s popularity in the state.
Namadi added that the smooth conduct of the exercise reflected Tinubu’s commitment to internal democracy, which he said is vital for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and democratic growth.
The Governor said the outcome should send a strong message to opposition parties that the APC is positioned for victory at all levels in 2027.
He therefore praised APC members and residents of Jigawa for maintaining discipline and integrity throughout the process, and urged them to return to their communities and mobilize ahead of the general election.
