Tsangaya education: Jigawa board trains 45 staff on effective teaching, learning activities

The Jigawa Tsangaya Education Board has trained 45 of its staff on effective teaching and learning activities.

Declaring the training open in Dutse, the Commissioner for Basic Education in the state, Dr Lawan Yunusa, said the one-day excercise is part of the 12- point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi towards preparing the staff of the board towards improving Quranic and Islamic education in the state.

Yunusa, who described the vital roles of the participants in imparting Quranic and Islamic education in Tsangaya schools across the state, appealed to them to justify the confidence reposed in them.

He urged them to rededicate themselves in reforming Tsangaya education for the benefit of younger generations, particularly the Almajirai who were the main target for establishing the board.

He explained that the state government is fully committed to provide all the necessary teaching aids that will facilitate effective teaching and learning activities in the schools.

The commissioner, who called on the teachers to redouble their efforts in order to achieve a desired objectives, commended the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr Abubakar Maje, for his foresight and tireless efforts in reforming Tsangaya education in the state.

According to him, the training would go a long in motivating the participants to feel highly honoured and confident in discharging their responsibilities effectively.

Earlier, Maje said training workshop was organized with a view to impart additional knowledge to the staff, as well as to make them prepared for the tasks ahead in reforming Tsangaya education in the state.

The executive secretary therefore, charged the participants to rededicate themselves in discharging their responsibilities.

He assured that Gov Namadi of the state is determined to ensure that board is fully equipped with all the necessary teaching aids that will facilitate effective teaching and learning in Tsangaya schools across the state.

Papers were presented by competent resource persons, including Dr Ahmad Muhammad from Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa and the executive Secretary of the board, who presented a paper on the genesis, aims and objectives of establishing Tsangaya education board.
