The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State, Bala Bawa Boddinga, has promised to deal with all miscreants and criminals in the state.
Parading the two suspected vandals at the Command headquarters on Monday, the Commandant said the men of the NSCDC had arrested them in Fuda village in Fagham, Gwaram Local government area.
He assured that the command would maintain surveillance and patrol in all areas across the state to ensure security and safety of the citizens.
“This commitment comes after the arrest of two suspects, Dahiru Abdullahi, who claimed to be a blacksmith, and Surajo Yusuf, a self-proclaimed hunter, for stealing electrical wires and insulators in Fuda village of Fagham in Gwaram Local government area of the state,” he said.
He explained that the recovered items include insulators,11 broken pieces of insulators, 20.7 meters of conductor wire, a knife, many spinners, a motorcycle, and 2.5 meters of wires.
He revealed that the suspects were caught through surveillance, while others from Babura local government area, who were on the run would be arrested and arraign in court.
The NSCDC Commandant called on the general public to provide useful information to help keep the state safe, assuring that the command would work tirelessly to apprehend all miscreants.
However, the commandant’s promise to deal with all miscreants and criminals in the state is a clear indication that the NSCDC is determined to ensure security and safety for all residents of Jigawa State.
The NSCDC’s efforts to curb vandalism and other forms of criminality in Jigawa State are yielding results, with the command having recorded several arrests and seizures in recent times.
