Umar Basheer Danalbarka, a prominent social media influencer and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been violently attacked by unidentified individuals near the Jigawa State Government House in Dutse.
According to report, the incident occurred on Thursday evening while Danalbarka was at a car wash behind the Government House.
An eyewitnesses described the attackers as political thugs who used sticks and canes to beat Danalbarka mercilessly.
Danalbarka alleged that the attack was orchestrated by a Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor name withheld, due to political differences.
However, the conflict was reportedly began after Danalbarka debunked claims by Jigawa State Government supporters about the funding of the Greater Dutse Water Project and criticized a ₦1 billion solar streetlight project.
Danalbarka expressed determination to seek justice and pursue every legal avenue available.
Attempt to contact the said SSA through his mobile phone did not yield result, but later he responded via SMS, saying “i didn’t know.”
While the spokesperson of the police, Superintendent of Police SP Lawal Shi’isu Adamu, claimed he was not aware of the incident.
