The Coalition from the All Progressive Congress (APC) Support Groups in Jigawa State has condemned the actions of National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Usman Gumel, for attending an unauthorized gathering in Kafin-Hausa Town.
The support groups made the condemnation during a press conference held in Dutse, Jigawa State capital on Wednesday.
The group said the gathering, which was organized by disgruntled individuals, made inciting and derogatory statements against Governor Umar Namadi and the state party leadership.
The group said Gumel’s presence allegedly provoked unrest, leading to chaos, injuries, and destruction of properties.
According to them APC support groups demanded that the national leadership investigate Gumel’s actions and invoke disciplinary measures in accordance with the party’s constitution.
They cited breaches of Article 21 A (vi), (vii), and (x), which deal with acts capable of bringing the party into disrepute, disobedience to lawful directives, and disrespect to party leadership.
The coalition reaffirmed its loyalty to the party leadership and Governor Umar Namadi, whose developmental strides and inclusive governance have uplifted Jigawa State.
They therefore urged the party to reinforce internal discipline and loyalty, and to take swift and decisive action in the interest of justice, peace, and party supremacy.
However, all efforts to get Bashir Gumel response to the accusation failed.
It would be recalled that on Saturday last week, the Defence Minister’s supporters were attacked in Kafinhausa town while in a rally.
