The Federal Government has approved N1 billion for the construction of a Police Training Institute in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Affairs and representative of Jigawa Northeast Senatorial District, disclosed this during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme.
The senator revealed that the Senate has passed a law establishing the institute, which is awaiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s assent for immediate commencement.
He said the construction of the Police Training Institute is aimed at enhancing accurate training for police personnel to improve policing in the country.
Senator Madori sponsored a motion for the construction of the institute, which was passed into law, and a provision of N1 billion was included in the 2025 budget for the project.
However, the development is part of the senator’s efforts to boost security and development in his constituency.
Senator Madori has been engaging with his constituents, showcasing his commitment to their welfare.
He said, he has donated a brand new Toyota Hilux to the Kafin Hausa Local Government divisional headquarters, renovated police barracks, and empowered over 8,000 youth and women in the area.
Additionally, he donated over N5 million for the completion of the central Jumaat mosque in the local government headquarters.
