Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has advised the opposition lawmakers to “start counting their days” as 3,502 PDP members defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Namadi handed down the warning over the weekend during the government/ citizens engagement programme held in Dutse.
The Governor attributed the mass defection of the PDP’s members to public endorsement of APC’s developmental programs.
Namadi also assured citizens that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration would complete the ongoing projects, including the N59.7 billion Dutse Greater Water Works and the Kano-Maiduguri Highway.
He also mentioned the Maradi Railway project passing through Dutse.
The Governor welcomed the defecting members into APC, promising equal treatment and emphasizing that his administration’s policies are designed to benefit all residents, regardless of party affiliation.
He however, conveyed a message from President Tinubu, assuring Jigawa residents that the Greater Dutse Water Supply, Maradi Railway, and Kano-Maiduguri Highway projects would be completed as scheduled.
