Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has showcased his administration’s achievements to the world in an interactive session with Academicians selected from various higher Institutions across the Northwest zone.
The occasion organized by the Jigawa Academics Forum was held recently at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Dutse.
Governor Namadi highlighted progress he made in agriculture, infrastructure, power, education, and healthcare among others.
He therefore emphasized his government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement.
Namadi announced plans to make Jigawa the nation’s food basket, citing initiatives like the Rice Millionaires Programme and Agricultural Support Program.
He said the state aim is to cultivate 500,000 hectares by 2030, producing 50% of Nigeria’s rice requirement.
Namadi also highlighted infrastructure development, including 46 road projects worth over N304 billion.
In the power sector, he said the state has partnered with KEDCO and established a Ministry of Power and Energy.
The Governor further emphasized on the investments made in education and healthcare, noting significant progress in infrastructure, teacher recruitment, and learning outcomes.
He noted that his administration aim is to improve access to quality healthcare and address challenges in the education sector.
