Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has successfully signed into law the ₦N901.8 billion budget for 2026 held at the Council chamber government house on wednesday.
The budget, dubbed “Budget of Innovation and Transformation for Greater Jigawa II,” was unanimously passed by the Jigawa State House of Assembly on December 23, 2025.
The budget prioritizes capital projects, with ₦693.4 billion allocated to infrastructure growth, education, agriculture, and healthcare, marking a 19.2% increase from the 2025 budget.
He said the budget for the 27 Local Government Areas LGAs in Jigawa State for 2026 is ₦288.848 billion.
This includes, Personnel Costs ₦68.884 billion, Overheads ₦74.265 billion, Contingency ₦8.1 billion and Capital expenditure ₦137.598 billion.
The Governor has ensured the citizens of Jigawa State of good execution of the 2026 budget.
He therefore commended the seal and commitment of the members of the state Assembly for the time passage of the budget.
