The Jigawa State Government has organized a five-day special training for 250 Arabic primary and Junior secondary school teachers on computer and modern teaching techniques.
The training, a first of its kind in the state and country, is a collaborative effort between the Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Jigawa State Colleges of Education, Gumel as well as Ringim.
The training took place at the Central Primary School Takur site on Saturday, with participants drawn from across the state.
Addressing the participants, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Professor Haruna Musa, stated that the training aim is to address the challenges in teaching methods and facilities in Arabic and Islamic knowledge.
Professor Musa explained that the teachers would be trained on new modern methods of teaching, latest teaching apparatus and aids, and lesson plans on Arabic language and Islamic knowledge.
He said the training also focuses on re-edicating participants on new innovations in teaching attitudes and the importance of lesson plans.
According to Musa that the training is as a result of the Governor’s support and encouragement to education sector.
And he stressed that 18 resource persons from the two colleges of education would be providing the training.
He added that the participants were selected across the state based on merit, and the training is expected to bring positive changes in the classrooms.
I view of the training, one of the participants, Malam Ibrahim Kude, commended the initiative, praised the Governor and SUBEB for their efforts to improve teaching and learning for qualitative education.
However, the training is part of the Jigawa State Government’s efforts to improve education in the state, with a focus on enhancing the skills of Arabic and Islamic knowledge teachers.
Therefore, Governor Namadi’s administration has been working to improve the state’s education sector, and this training is a significant step in that direction.
