Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general election in Jigawa State, has alleged that former Governor Sule Lamido is the main cause of the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ringim stated this while reacting to Lamido’s recent comments, where he said he would remain in the PDP and work for the Coalition (ADC) in the coming elections.
According to Ringim, Lamido is the mastermind behind the PDP’s failure in 2015, and Minister Nyesom Wike is copying his tactics.
Ringim claimed that Lamido’s actions led to the PDP losing several governors, including those from Kano and Jigawa, and that Wike’s current actions are a result of the injustice he suffered at the hands of PDP leaders.
“You are the problem of PDP, not Wike, because he is following your footsteps.” Ringim stated,
Ringim also lamented that many big politicians, including himself, left the PDP due to Lamido’s behavior, and that the former governor’s actions are worse than what Wike is doing now.
He mentioned several notable politicians who left the party, including Ibrahim Saminu Tiraki, Ahmad Muhammad, and Bello Maitama, among others.
Ringim’s comments highlight the deep-seated divisions within the PDP and the challenges the party faces in the lead-up to the next general elections.
