The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command in a major operation carried out recently has cracked down on criminals, arrested several.
This was stated by Bala Bawa Boddinga, the newly posted Commandant of the NSCDC, Jigawa state, While parading the suspected criminals at the Command headquarters Dutse.
He also pledged to rid and keep the state free of criminal elements and their collaborators.
Boddinga said during a recent operation, the NSCDC recovered stolen livestock, including six goats, four sheep, and one calf.
Adding that the men of the Command had confiscated various items including a motorcycle, bus, hoes, diggers and shovels, harmers as well as bow and arrows.
Boddinga has further explained that the NSCDC has began the investigation to ascertain the level of involvement of each of the suspects and take them to the court for trial.
He said the seven suspects, aged ranges between 17 and 37, have been arrested in connection with the crime.
Boddinga emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging law-abiding citizens to cooperate with the agency.
To maintain peace and order across the state, the Commandant directed its Divisional Inspectors and Commanders to intensify efforts against crimes.
With the support of other security agencies and stakeholders, Boddinga said he is confident that the state will be safer for all residents.
The state Commandant said he will be active in addressing various security challenges, including crackdown on drug peddlers and cattle rustlers.
