Taraba State Governor, Mr Kefas Agbu has been commended for taking over the medical bill of the National Diploma (ND) 1 student Saanmoyol Paul, who was recently electrocuted while flying a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s flag to welcome Vice President Kashim Shettima.
While reacting to the incident on Friday Dr. Amos Danlami Agbu, the Rector of the Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai said the Governor has done well.
According to him, the incident occurred when Paul, a newly admitted student in the School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Department of Epidemiology and Disease Control, accidentally touched a live cable wire with the flag.
He said Governor Kefas promptly intervened, covering the student’s medical expenses at Gilead Hospital in Magami.
Dr. Danlami has praised the Governor’s prompt action, demonstrating his love for the student and the polytechnic community.
However, Paul, from his hospital bed, also expressed gratitude for the Governor’s support, while the Rector prayed for his quick recovery to resume studies.
