Senator Babangida Husseini, representing Jigawa Northwest senatorial zone, has on Monday distributed 12 trucks load of fertilizer to farmers in his constituency.
He said the program, aimed at providing food security in the zone, is done under the watchful eyes of the Northwest Development Commission.
He said each of the 12 local government areas in the Senatorial zone received one truckload of fertilizer, which was distributed Free to small and large-scale farmers, including APC supporters, farmer groups, and cooperative groups.

The Senator said he has to flagg off the free fertilizer distribution program, which he described as anas a complement to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agricultural program on food security.
He explained that the initiative is designed to support farmers in the zone, boosting agricultural productivity and food security.
Adding that the distribution of fertilizer cuts across all electoral wards, ensuring that the benefits reach farmers at the grassroots level.
However, the beneficiaries of the program have expressed gratitude to Senator Husseini for his efforts in supporting agriculture in the zone.
They said the distribution of fertilizer is expected to have a positive impact on agricultural production in the zone, contributing to food security and economic growth.
They stressed that Senator Husseini’s initiative is a demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and his support for the federal government’s agricultural program.
