Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has mourned the passing of Honourable Abba Anas Adamu, describing the former House of Representatives member as a committed public servant who dedicated much of his life to serving the people of Jigawa State and humanity.
Speaking after attending the funeral prayer held in Kano on Tuesday, Namadi said the death was a painful loss to both Jigawa State and the nation.
The Governor noted that the late politician served Jigawa at multiple levels, including as a former member of the House of Representatives, former Chairman of Guri Local Government Area, and former Commissioner in Jigawa State.
He added that Adamu was also an accomplished academic who remained active in public life.
Namadi said he would be remembered for his humility, dedication to democratic ideals, and contributions to the political development of the state.
Joining family members, political associates, friends, and sympathisers at the funeral, Governor Namadi prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give strength to his family, friends, associates, and the people of Jigawa State to bear the loss.
