Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi while addressing the state’s workforce on May-Day, reaffirm his commitment to labour-friendly reforms.
The Governor also mentioned the injection of over N7 billion into the state’s contributory pension scheme to further boost the lives of the retirees.
The event, tagged “Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of Economic Hardship,” took place at the Aminu Kano Triangle, Dutse.
He further highlighted his administration’s achievements, including implementing a N70,000 minimum wage and constructing affordable housing for civil servants.
Governor Namadi praised the resilience of Jigawa’s workers, describing them as the driving force behind the state’s progress.
He also expressed confidence that the theme of the celebration had already been significantly realized in the State.
The Governor therefore assured workers that their efforts would not go in vain, despite current challenges.
He said the celebration served as a platform to highlight the administration’s pro-worker policies and address remaining concerns.
However, the organized Labour led by Sanusi Alhassan Maigatari commended Governor Namadi’s labour-friendly policies, describing him as “a governor of the people.”
He said the Governor’s 12-point agenda, has benefited many people including mass recruitment, agricultural loan schemes, and palliative shops respectively.
