A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has approached the court to challenge the recent local government and congress elections held by the party.
Abba Anas Adamu, Chairman of the Committee on Justice and Privileges, stated this on Tuesday while addressing reporters in Dutse, Jigawa State capital.
He said that their faction seeks justice and fair hearing from the court, alleging that the party’s guidelines and constitution were not followed during the elections.
Adamu claimed that the elections were marred by irregularities, with local government elections conducted in private homes and state elections being mere appointments.
He accused the party leadership of being under one-man control, denying other members equal rights and treatment.
According to him that the court has adjourned the case until May 28, 2025, and they are praying for the elections to be quashed in their favour.
Adamu warned that the party’s leadership should be fair to all otherwise, there would be problems.
