The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, has launched initiatives to educate citizens in Jigawa State about its economic interventions and policies.
Over 14 federal government programs were highlighted during the public enlightenment campaign, which aimed at informing citizens about socio-economic opportunities and how to access them.
This was disclosed on Thursday by Dr Mubarak Adam Cisse, who served as a guest Speaker during the sensitisation campaign held at the federal Secretariat Dutse.
Additionally, the sensitization is sponsored by the Minister of Information and National Orientation Agency, Mr Idris Mohammed.
Dr Cisse said in the agricultural sector, wheat farmers in 12 Local Government Areas of Kebbi State received inputs via the Nigeria Agricultural Growth Project (NAGAP).
Dr Cisse explained that Tinubu’s administration had assisted ginger farmers in Kaduna State who benefited from a N1.6 billion support package.
He said the initiatives demonstrate the administration’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers and boosting agricultural productivity.
In the infrastructure sector, he said the administration commissioned the N2 billion Yauri Water Scheme in Kebbi State, providing access to clean water for thousands of people.
Furthermore, he stressed that 55 facilitators were trained in Zamfara State through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) sessions.
Adding that the administration has also provided financial support to students through Nelfund loans, with 8,978 students of Federal University Dutsin-Ma receiving N909 million.
He said 5,451 students of the federal University Dutse received N593 million, and 6,480 students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto received N578 million respectively.
