Thousands of APC members from the Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency have called on Honourable Auwal Danladi Sankara, to run for the House of Representatives in the upcoming 2027 general election.
Sankara is currently the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties and Humanitarian Affairs.
The call was made during a weekly Government-Citizens Engagement forum held in Taura local government, where various groups from across the constituency’s 20 political wards expressed their support for Hon. Sankara.
Ibrahim Sani from Majiya Ward stated that their support for Hon. Sankara stems from a desire to have a capable and competent representative who can attract more national projects and democratic dividends to the area.
Sani Shawai from Taura declared their readiness to raise funds to purchase the nomination form for Hon. Sankara in 2027, describing the effort as a “rescue mission” to free the constituency from poor representation.
The supporters believe Hon. Sankara’s proven record of public service, compassion, and commitment make him the ideal candidate for the position.
The town hall meeting was attended by the incumbent House of Representatives member, Hon. Sa’adu Wada Taura, who was present at the occasion.
The event was marked by supporters chanting for Hon. Sankara, demonstrating the strong backing he enjoys from the APC members in the constituency.
However, Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s leadership was cited as an example of good governance, with supporters urging Hon. Sankara to emulate his style to bring development to the area.
