Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru ElRufa’i, has Wednesday said 230 million Nigerians will defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside the defecting Governors into it, by the African Democratic Party (ADC).
Malam ElRufa’i made the statement at the unavailing of the ADC National Contact and Mobilisation Office Plateau State chapter.
He said it was evident that Nigerians are fade off with the current leadership in the country.
“I know everybody is tired of the APC and PDP. Everybody is looking up to the ADC to save Nigeria. Governors are defecting from PDP to APC. By God’s grace 230 million Nigerians will defeat 25 Governors,” he said.
He said the ADC is for the youth and women, adding that they will between 2027 to 2031 build a young generation of leaders to handover to.
“What is ahead of us is to unite and bring all party members together. To bring our very good candidates, and good policies that will help all Nigerians.
“All of you here have a role to play. ADC is the only party that reserved 40% of leadership positions to the youth and 35% leadership contests for women. It is a party for young people and women,“ ElRufai said.
He stressed that leaders of the ADC are will unit to bring out good candidate and sound policies that will help Nigerians, adding that they will introduce integrity, and ethical leadership in Governance to succeed.
He reiterated that they left APC because it has become a party tyranny, theft and it divisiveness of Nigerians.
Plateau State coordinator of the ADC Contact and Mobilisation, Hon. Jamilu Lawandi Datti, said opining of the new marked the beginning of a renewed political movement aimed at bridging the gap between governance and the people, particularly the youth of Nigeria.
He said Nigerian youths are suffering from widespread unemployment, rising insecurity that threatens lives and discourages investment, and the persistent lack of quality education and healthcare, especially in rural communities, youth exclusion in governance, corruption and poor leadership, which have eroded trust in government and institutions.
The coordinator called for unity and collective responsibility in building a better Nigeria.
“Together, we will build a Nigeria that works for all,” Datti said, reaffirming the ADC’s commitment to fostering leadership that puts the country first.
In her remarks the State chairman of ADC, Mrs Hannatu Gagara, said the event was significant for ADC’s grassroots mobilisation.
She received more than 800 defectors from the APC, and PDP, assuring them of equal rights and privileges in the ADC.
