Management of Salem University Lokoja has confered honorary doctor of Law on Hon Justice Steven Adah, a justice of supreme court.
The university also confered Doctor of Law on Barr Ogu Onoja (SAN)
The award was confered on both personalities during the 7th convocation ceremony held at the University Convocation ground, Lokoja, Kogi state.
The Vice Chancellor said the honorary award was in recognition of consistent contribution to the justice system of the country
Simimarly, the university awarded it’s 10 best graduating students with a cash sum of N100, 000.00
The sum was doubled for the overall best graduating student Miss Ezesinachi Ogechukwu Maryann of the collage of law.
Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Alewo Akubo, we have identified best graduating student in every department. While the overall best goes to Ezesinachi Ogechukwu Maryann of the collage of law.
“The price for the best in all the colleges goes with the sum of N100,000.00 for each, while that of the overall best doubles.
The VC urged the graduating students to be a solution provider and change agents. “We release you as agents of national transformation, be a solution provider, be inovative, creative, resourceful so to be the real change agents that you are.
“Go out and excell as co-nation builders. You are not trained to graduate into the labor market like every other university, you are to be creators of jobs and wealth”.
