The Jigawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting teenage entrepreneurs, with the wife of the state Governor, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi, announcing plans to identify and empower children with entrepreneurial talents.
Speaking at the 2025 Arewa 19 northern states Creatives, Entrepreneurs, and Culture Enthusiasts Festival in Dutse, Hajiya Amina Umar Namadi, represented by Hajiya Maryam Ahmed, emphasized the state’s focus on job creation and economic empowerment, citing Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s 12-point agenda.
The festival, organized by Tripoint Academy, showcased talented children, especially teenage girls, in child-friendly businesses and trades.
National Coordinator of Tripoint Academy, Hajiya Shuhda Muhammad, stated that the event aimed at encouraging and supporting young entrepreneurs, highlighting the rich heritage and innovations of the Arewa region.
Also Jigawa State Coordinator of Tripoint Academy, Mrs. Aisha Ilyasu Sirko, noted that hundreds of children participated in the festival, demonstrating their skills in various businesses and trades.
However, the event was made possible by the support of Governor Malam Umar Namadi, Hajiya Amina Namadi, Baba Azimi Foundation (BAF), Hasina Confectionary and Restaurant, and Onga.
The festival is expected to become an annual event, rotating among the 19 northern states, promoting entrepreneurship and cultural exchange among young people in the region.
