The Emir of Dutse and Amirul Hajj for Jigawa State in the 2026 Hajj exercise, Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi, expressed satisfaction with the welfare of Jigawa pilgrims during an inspection visit to their accommodation in Makkah on Friday night, 2026.
The facilities, secured by the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board near the Holy Mosque, were hosting pilgrims who were reported to be in high spirits and comfortable during the pilgrimage.
Speaking during the visit, Emir Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi said the smiles and happiness he observed showed that the board was meeting its responsibility to the pilgrims.
He then commended the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board and its Director General, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, for coordinating the arrangements.
The Emir also thanked Governor Umar Namadi for supporting the participation of government officials, Islamic scholars, and journalists to ensure supervision and guidance throughout the Hajj.
The Emir urged pilgrims to continue praying for peace, security, and prosperity in Jigawa State and Nigeria, and to pray for Governor Umar Namadi’s development efforts.
His his part, the Director General Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo said Saudi authorities had commended Jigawa pilgrims for their discipline, good conduct, and peaceful behavior around the Haram and at accommodation centers.
He noted that the board had supplemented funds beyond what pilgrims paid to secure better hotels and services, and assured that any excess payment would be refunded.
“Pilgrims’ Hajj funds were being used judiciously”, he added.
Labbo echoed the call, praising the pilgrims for their maturity and patience and urging them to maintain Jigawa’s good reputation until their safe return home.
