The Jigawa State Government, through the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development Dutse, has suspended five appointees of the Auyo Local Government Council with immediate effect.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in a press release signed by Najib Umar, Public Relations Officer for the Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Community Development.
He said the affected officials are Bala Energy and Abdullahi Usman, both Supervisory Councillors, plus three Special Advisers to the Chairman including Afake Auyo, Ussaini Biyuta Kataudi, and Kande Auyo.
According to the directive, all suspended appointees must hand over every government property and responsibility in their possession to the Director of Administration and General Services of Auyo Local Government without delay.
The PRO explained that compliance with the handover order is mandatory and must be carried out promptly.
However, no reason was stated for the suspension in the press release issued.
