The Hadejia Emirate Zakat Committee has distributed a staggering N1.072 billion to deserving individuals in the emirate, marking a significant milestone in the Islamic Year 1446AH.
This impressive feat was achieved through collections from 27 district areas within the emirate, comprising money, field crops, and animals.

According to Engineer Isma’ila Garba Barde, Secretary of the Zakat Committee, Guri District took the top spot, generating an impressive N105.7 million, followed closely by Auyo with N104.07 million, and Jabo District Area with N100.02 million. Notably, the committee’s efforts last year earned them the title of “Best Performing Zakat Committee” by the National Zakat Board, with a collection of N300 million worth of items.
Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji (DR) Adamu Abubakar Maje CON, commended the committee’s outstanding work, praising stakeholders for their efforts in mobilizing support for the Islamic pillar of Zakat. He urged all relevant stakeholders, farmers, and affluent individuals to adhere to Islamic directives and continue supporting the committee’s noble endeavors.
In recognition of their hard work, the Emir honored the District Heads with awards of excellence, presenting the District Head of Guri with a sword and big gown for achieving the top position, while the District Heads of Auyo and Jabo received big gowns for their second and third-place finishes, respectively.
