The Jigawa state government has officially commissioned the newly upgraded Center of Excellence on Technical and Vocational Training Centre at Garki Local Government Area.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to develop manpower in Jigawa, with plans to invest over ₦20 billion in similar schools across the state.
The centre was commissioned over the weekend by Governor Umar Namadi at Garki town, the headquarters of the Local Government.
The Governor said the center was initially constructed at a cost of ₦635 million and further renovated with ₦700 million by the present administration.
Namadi announced that additional investments are being made, including ₦600 million for workshop construction and ₦3.1 billion for equipment supply.
“The center has admitted over 200 students and will offer courses in Welding and Fabrication, Building Technology, and Catering Services,” he stressed.
